Yard work time!!

The valve to turn on the sprinklers in the front has been broken for awhile and this year when we turned on the sprinklers to test them it was worse then ever so Travis decided it was time to replace it. After talking about it we decide that while he was in there we might as well convert it to automatic sprinklers. It turned into quite the project!!

The kids found their camping chairs and rooted  him on!

Our original plan was to run wire all the way from the front to the garage but that was going to be way to expensive it was fun measuring how much we would need though!! We ended up just running wire to the dining room to the box.

The box we got its run completely from an app on my phone!!

The old valves.

We also decided that that same weekend would be a good time to plant the veggie garden look at this huge weed!! That thing was so mean and pokey!

And the neighbor cut down the tree. The kids watched from the porch swing. While i tilled the garden, and daddy went to the store for more parts.

We did the garden different this year! We left the weed barrier there pinned it down real well and cut holes for the plants to go in. In this picture Korbyn is helping daddy pin it down by stepping on the pins after he put them in.

Helping dig a hole.

The tree 98% of it fell in our yard.

The kids had some fun playing in it before he cut it up alittle more and threw it in his yard.

Timers all in ready to go!!

Korbyns neck got a little burnt because his shirt was on backwards exposing his neck a little he was super brave about it and never complained.

We decided while we were at it and since it ended up being cheaper then we thought it would be, to go ahead and do the back yard as well.

The sprinklers in the back have never had enough pressure to get all the way to the middle of the yard. So while we  were at it we decided to put a third row of them down the middle so we didn't have to try water them any more with a sprinkler attached to a hose that never stayed in the right spot.

Travis dug the trench by hand and it turned out to be quite the project. ( this was the next weekend after we did the front sprinklers.)

The weekend after we planted the garden there was supposed to be a hard freeze so we covered the plant to hopefully protect them from freezing! Also if you look closely you can see the drip line we installed and put on a timer so we don't have to weed or remember to water them the drip line has been working great!

We had a crazy wind storm come thru that knocked this branch into our yard! This was on the opposite side of the yard from the tree that was cut down just days earlier.

When Travis cut it down we decided to go ahead and cut out our last fruit tree, an apricot tree in the back yard. It was slowly dying and thanks to the squirrels we never got anything from it except a big mess from them eating the fruit before it was ripe and leaving it all over the yard! The plan is to plant 3 shade tress along that side of the yard to provide shade and less mess.
