Camping at Marsh Lake

The end of July we packed up the van and headed up into the Unintas to go camping! this was our fist time taking the kids camping in the mountains.

It was beautiful!

All set up! Travis's Aunt Trena and her boys joined us well as Travis' brother Matt.

The nights an morning were cold and the days were prefect with random rain storms.

Korbyn was in heaven and fished any time we would let him!

Playing monkey in the middle with a glow in the dark football.

Ready to sleep! Korbyn slept under his air mattress!

He caught one! He was so excited to eat it!

Erilyn found some time to read.

I melted my shoe on the side of the fire pit!

Chopping wood.

That black spot would be my shoe!

This little guy stopped by to say hi!

More fishing!

Travis' mom, step dad and Nisha came up for dinner one night.

Ash on her face!

Caught another fish! forgot the string though so Enslie grabbed it with a stick so she didn't have to touch it!

The spine again! The kids thought it was so cool it came out in mostly one piece!

The sunsets over the lake we so pretty!

playing cards!

This lake is where Travis' dad would take him and his brother camping every summer. When his dad passed in Jan of 2020 He had his body donated to science. They used it for teaching purposed at the u of u then cremated him. and mailed him to us about march of the year. We decided his final resting place would be the place he loved most. and where his boys had alot of memories with him. The night before we gathered around the fire and talked about our favorite memories of him then in the   morning we walked to his favorite fishing spot and spread his ashes under the trees and in the lake. We could definitely feel his presence thru out the trip and knew he was happy to finally be home. This pic is us walking back to camp after an amazing bonding experience!

Korbyn got a little burnt!

The last day Trenas duaghter and her kids came up the kids had fun running around with them!

We made tin foil dinner we thought we were smart doing it this way but it just burnt them! We were supposed to stay one more night but there was rain the forecast for the whole night and morning and we didn't want to pack up in the rain! Plus it was freezing at night!

The drive home was so pretty!

This is something we want to do more often to feel close to Troy but next time we will prepare better for the cold nights!
