From The Beginning: August 2020

Because of corona our original spring break was canceled. This was the trip we scheduled in its place. One thing that i have always wanted to do but haven't is go to the 4 corners so we found a time share hotel close to it in Arizona. The day before we were scheduled to leave they closed it do to high numbers of positive cases in the Navajo community. But we made the best of it and found other things to do instead.

A couple weeks before we left we decided to leave a day early and split the drive down between 2 days. There were no timeshare resorts in the area we wanted to stay so we used some point and stayed at a cheaper hotel the kids were so confused when they walked in and it was so small! They are used to the resorts and this was their first time in a cheap hotel. We always have at-least a 2 bedroom room with a full kitchen. So 2 beds a microwave and barely working fridge was so weird to them!!

They did think this blue bench outside was cool though!!

The kids all started out on one bed then Korbyn moved to the chair and then at some point in the night he moved under the desk to sleep!!

We got up early checked out of the hotel and went down the road to arches national park. We figured the kids were to small to do the delicate arch hike but we did a few smaller hikes and drove around the park.

Korbyn tripped at one point and skinned his Knee he was so brave about it though!

By about 11 it was starting to get hot so we hopped in the car to finish our drive to Weber, Arizona

He decided he want Jammies on but knew he could unbuckle to change so he put them over his clothes and seatbelt!!

Finally we arrived at our hotel Erilyn was so excited we were staying in the "teal" one.

We had to make reservations to swim in the pool. There just so happened
to be a
reservation available when we checked in so we took that reservation
and hurried and unpacked the car and changed into our suits.
The kids were so excited because this was the first time all
summer they have been swimming!! The pool was alittle cold but we had fun.

The next night we had a later swim time and got to do a sunset swim!!

The resort had so many cool things we could do including a fire pit!! we roasted marshmallows and the kids looked at me like a was crazy as i pulled up some of my favorite girls camp songs on my phone and played them for them.

After a wile the rocks and walk way became more interesting.

Man this bread brought back memories!! I remember calling it balloon bread growing up!

There were horses close to the resort so we walked over to say hi to them the kids were so excited when they came closer and let them pet and feed them.

The kids were also excited to play on the play ground as all of their favorites close to us a re still closed.

They had a pond and fishing rods we could barrow. The kids loved fishing!!

Korbyn made this all by himself with out any help from us. He was proud of his trap!

This guy scared all of as we didn't know there were crawdads in this lake!!

We played a few games and relaxed in the hotel. Here Enslie is a twister mat burrito.

We were able to reserve a time to play in the req. room the kids had fun trying all the stuff.

I finally retired these shoes!! I have been wearing them every day for about 3 years and to say they were worn was an understatement! It got to the point that they bugged me so bad because the in-soul was so torn up i constantly felt like there was something in my shoe and they had no more grip left on them. I brought my hiking shoes for arches so i just wore those the rest of the time.

Erilyn dreamed up this hair-do and i helped her do it.

And this girls decided she wanted her hair just like mine!

The drive home!

As fun as the trip was we were all exited to get home to our own beds and the kids were excited to see their cats!!

At one point after we got out of the canyon the check engine light started to flash every time the engine revved pass 3. We were literally in the middle of no where so we just took it slow and stopped for a potty break the next chance we got. We gave the engine time to cool off and checked the oil it was fine. and it started up just fine. we figured with how fast we were going up and down hills with the ac full blast it must have over heated the engine. So we turned the ac down and turned it off when were going up hills and it didn't do it again..... whooo!!
