We got an Elf on the shelf on black Friday i was going to wait to start it till Erilyn understood alittle more then decided i couldn't wait! Since Erilyn cant really cant talk yet we decided to name her after what reminded us of Erilyn thus the name giggles was born!! She is and always has been the best happiest giggliest baby, So it fit! We will be posting pics often of what she has been up to!!
She made mini peanut butter kiss cookies at the north pole for us!! Compared to her they are ginormous though!!
She must have wanted to play with the decorations like Erilyn did!!

Hollidays+ traditions.

As i was growing up i had 5 siblings my Mom was a stay-at-home mom so understandably money was always tight no matter how good a job my dad had. When we needed new shoes or our pants had turned into floods my mom would ask " Can you wait for Santa to bring those? Isnt the Easter bunny coming soon?  Your birthday is only a month away. Or can you wait till school starts to get new clothes?" I hated it back then but now that i have my own baby I realize she wasn't doing it to be mean or because we didn't necessarily have the money. She did it for 2 reasons #1 She didn't want us to be spoiled or expect to always get new things #2 She was saving all of that money to make Christmas, Easter, and Birthdays extra special and exciting. And it worked!!! I believed in Santa till i was 12 years old because when we would go up stairs to see what Santa brought on Christmas morning there was no way my parents could afford that! ( sleep is an under statement we didn't sleep ) We would "wake"my mom and dad up EXTRA early usually around 2 in the morning so we could see what Santa brought. The reason wake is in quotations is because now i know we never "woke" them up. By the time 2 had a rolled around they were just finishing putting everything out ( Santa never wrapped at our house) and they hadn't gone to "sleep" yet. And quite honestly we never really had either we were so excited to get new toys, clothes, shoes and candy that we couldn't sleep.
My mom was also big on traditions The Day after thanksgiving we would decorate the whole house in Christmas decorations and they would stay up till new years. Every DEC. 5 us kids would spend hours upon hours perfecting our wish lists and when it got dark outside we would put our lists in our shoes on the front door step, and at night Santa would come and take the list and leave a little treat in our shoes. On Christmas eve we would all gather in the living room and sit around for hours talking, eating junk food and toasting with sparkling cider. At the end of the night we would get to open one present always PJ's and we were told to get dressed right away. We would chat for alittle longer then go to "sleep" on Christmas morning we would line up on the stairs according to birth order and and we would walk into the front room to an unbelievable amount of clothes toys and candy. We would spend the rest of the day playing, eating nothing but junk food and being lazy. It was the best!!!
I also realize now that Christmas time was a time that my mom looked forward to more then we probably did. She enjoyed buying lots of gifts for us and not expecting anything in return. She loved playing Santa and just seeing our eyes light on Christmas morning when we walked into living room full of everything we had asked for and more.
And this is what i want for my children, i want them to be so excited they cant sleep and for them to believe for a really long time because "There is no way mom can afford all this!" We are going to keep all of my moms as well as start our own traditions. One being I'm going to wrap 24 Christmas books and put them under the tree and every night (starting Dec. 1) We are going to read one, talk about it and what Christmas is really about. The one to open on Christmas eve will be extra special it will have the night before Christmas, along with hot coco, a Christmas movie, popcorn and new slippers for everyone. I'm also planning on buying an elf on the shelf and doing that every year. My goal is to make this time of year extra special, remember able and something the kids look forward to each year.
LET THE BUYING BEGIN!!! :-D

One last luagh before Landis left.

About 2 years ago my Mom, Big Brother Kamrin, Sister Shaless, And little Brother Landis did a hot wing challenge. My mom,big brother kamrin and shaless finished all 11 wings. Landis on the other hand froze up after his second one and couldn't finish the rest. Connor swore he could finish 3 and beat Landis. We kept on forgetting or couldn't get everyone together, on weds when we were all at the house saying our last good byes to Landis. Kamrin ran to get some and asked if any one else would do it after some convincing Travis, Jared, My Dad, and  Me decided we would try ONE. They didn't open till 11 so Kamrin drove up there and waited at the door so he could be the first to get his order in, since Landis had to leave at 1140ish to make it to the mtc by 1245. He called when he was almost there and said to wait outside so we could get it started asap.

Grabbing our wings....

First bite.... not to bad!

Connor going for his second one. Kamrin knowing whats ahead for each of us.

It finally his Right after the first bite!! My eyes were watering, My mouth burned, my Ears felt like they were going to explode and i could force my self to swallow.

HURRY I NEED MILK!!

Connor acting "cool" " this isn't that bad guys" Jared Loosing it in the back ground

Dad pacing the drive way.

Hurry milk!!!

Trying to breath. Travis loosing it in the background.

Connor acting tough everyone else freaking out!!

See you in 2 years landis!!

Landis with the girls on the night of his temple session. we will take one when he gets home too, to compare the difference.

Jaydan helping Landis by carrying his back pack to grans car.

Erilyn waiting with gran for Kamrin to get there.

Enjoying watching everyone suffer he didn't want to do it because he was afraid it would give him an upset stomach and he had to share a bath room with strangers.

It was fun to do it once just to say i did it but i will NEVER do it again!!

10 Month adventures

Erilyn has been crazy busy this last month here are a few pics of what she has been up to lately.

She recently got to tall for anything smaller then 12 month cloths, but they didn't fit around the waste in fact she kept on crawling right out of her pants. what to do what to do? Then we found baby belts!! They look so cute on her and keep her pants up! Even though we had to make new holes in almost all of them ;-D

She recently learned to take wipes out of the package. I had just got done changing London when the dryer got done so i went to switch the loads and when i came back Erilyn was pulling them out one by one and just throwing them on the ground!!!

This is the same day i was folding laundry and when i looked down this is now i found them. They really do like each other!!

HAPPY BABY!!!

I was in the other room changing into my PJ's when i heard Travis yell hurry come see your missing it!! I look in the room to see her stand up on her toy box!!

Pulling faces on Halloween.

Daddy gave her, her first sucker she loved every second of it!!

I was cleaning up the tv room when i heard her yelling i run into the room and find her like this!.... I couldn't help but run back and grab my phone to take a picture

Erilyns first halloween

Erilyn didn't really nap all day so she went sleep about 6 got up at 830 and then back to sleep from 10 to 7. Travis was off Halloween night for the first time since he started at big 5. He didn't believe me when i told him we got ATON of trick or treaters and told me i bough way to much candy..... till they started coming! We took a tally and counted 215!! Trick or treaters.

Erilyn in my belly last year!!

Uncle Landis stopped by for a min.

Our pumpkins Daddy did the one on the bottom step, Mommy did the one on the next step, and the top is Erilyns

We did all happy ones cuz Erilyn is such a happy girl ( most of the time)

I carved the top off of Erilyns pumpkin and quickly realized it was to small so i cut it to make it bigger and as i was pulling off that piece my fingernail got caught and tore my nail..... OUCH!!

Our little monkey
