RSV/Bronchiolitis

On march 8 I noticed Enslie had a stuffy nose, a low fever (99.7) and she was super fussy wich is not like her. Just to be safe we scheduled an apt at her docs office. They said it was just a virus but to watch for signs of it getting worse. The fallowing Friday I noticed that she was either refusing to eat or throwing most/all of it up. By sat I was tired of cleaning up throw up and starting to worry that she was getting dehydrated. After we went to dinner for my moms birthday we decided it was time to take her to insta-care. Shaless  and Jared offered to take Erilyn for us so we could get her checked out with out having to chase Erilyn around also. When we got there we checked in and since it was close to closing time they didn't have many people there. So we got right back they checked her weight temp. and  then her oxygen level it was around 87. The doc came in and checked her ears..... nothing. He also checked her for dehydration she wasn't dehydrated.....yet. He said to watch for dehydration and try to feed her half her bottle then the other half  20 min later since it seemed that being stuffed up was giving her an upset stomach. We decided to keep her home from church since we still weren't sure what was wrong and she was still throwing up ALOT. She was up almost all sunday night/ Monday morning crying cuaghing and throwing up what I ever I gave her. By tues we decided to get her an apt. at the docs office. When I called they wanted to see her sooner rather then later but since Travis had work and i was baby sitting the earliest we could do it was. 2 we got an apt for 220 they were running behind so we didn't get back till about 3 they weighed her( 9lbs 6oz)  checked  her temp. (99.7)they then took us to a room and checked her oxygen level the nurse looked worried and changed the position of the monitor and checked it again she said that the monitor must be broken so she left to get another. I could hear commotion in the hall way she back in with the doc and checked again they still looked worried they said that her oxygen was low it was 80-84 normal is 100 they said since it was so low and she was so little they had to take her to Primary Childrens Via Ambulance! I lost it! They said she would be fine but that she would definantly spend a few days there. Since her docs office is at st. marks the ambulance people came up right away and we were off to primary children's. I went with Enslie and Travis and Erilyn went home to get some stuff then meant us at the hospital. When we got there they admitted her right away and got her on some oxygen they got her weight, height, temp and oxygen levels. Then they did a deep suctioning of her nose they got lots of snott out, they were surprised how much. They then swabbed her nose to have  labs done to see what it was that she had. We got moved up to the infant unit the results came back RSV positive she also was positive for bronchiolitis. Since she was dehydrated she had an iv put in and had iv fluids for a few hours, til they stopped them because she kept a full 3 oz down. They continued to suction her before every feeding until she could keep a bottle down with out it. She went a full 5 hours with out needing oxygen then had a cuaghing fit she was having a hard time recovering from so they put the oxygen back on and sent her home on a little bit of oxygen. She was at the hospital from 330 tues march 18 to about noon on Thurs. 20. The next day the 21 we went to the docs office again they checked her over and tried to see what she would do off of the oxygen she did amazingly and they decided that she ok with out it!! yay!! I have to say that this is the hardest thing about being a mom is I hate seeing my girls sick or in any kind of pain I just with I could take it from them.
All hooked up.

So sad looking. Since she is so little they had to tape up her iv really well so it wouldn't come or get pulled out. The poor girl kept hitting her self in the face with it.

Finally caught a smile!!

If you look close you can see her hair standing straight up after a bath. They gave her the nick name baby Einstein after that because his hair looked like his.

Erilyn entertained her self one day when she came to visit baby sister.

Happy to be home! even if it was on oxygen.

Yay no oxygen!

Her beautiful oxygen tank for when she was home we also had a portable one for on the go.

"Mommy baby Ensie hold Erinyn han!" They sure do love each other. :-)
