Christmas Eve 2020

We went shopping for the traditional food in the morning with Hamma and Hampa and Connor the kids insisted i take pictures with the water!

After Sam's we headed to WinCo for a few things and let the kids pick out some caffeine (mtn dew) to help keep them awake since our family Christmas eve party wasn't even starting till half an hour after bed time.

when we got home we let the kids open presents from us we always do board games to help keep the kids occupied since they are always excited and hyper on Christmas eve. We let them open Kerplunk, Jake the snake, and Mouse trap we played those for a bit then had lunch then we told the kids we  had one more present for them! They were surprised when it was 4 more!! And even more shocked when it was a Nintendo switch! The other presents were more controllers and games. Its so tiny!!

We enjoyed the rest of the day and playing all the games around 7 the kids started to get tired so we whipped out the mtn. dew.

So the back story behind getting this switch! Travis and i had a deal that if i could find it for under $300 we could get one well Sams club had one a week before thanksgiving for $299! I was so excited but failed to notice it was online only and didn't get one before it sold out! I was so bummed then I saw on an add that wal mart was also going to have one on sale the day before thanksgiving! It was going on sale online at 7pm eastern so I set an alarm on my phone for 4:50 to remind me to look and then I got busy making dinner and lost track of time. At 5:02 I looked and they were sold out! When Travis got on to look it said that it would be going on sale again at 5:30! We hurried finished dinner and sat on the couch to try to get one. At 530 they sold out right away I was so sad but, it said they would go on sale again at 5:45! I kept on hitting refresh and some how got one in my cart but I lost it because I want sure what the security code on my card was and didn't check out fast enough!! At 5:45 we have no luck again. I some how get one in my cart and decide to leave it there till they go on sale again at 6pm right at 6 I checked out and got it!! It was so STRESSFUL I totally prefer dealing with crowds and fighting to get stuff in store much better!!

Oh the story doesn't end there! When I checked out I was so stressed I didn't care if we had to drive an hour to pick it up but, I got free shipping!! It said it would arrive the 7th of Dec. then I got an Email a few days before that saying the found an extra at a store and it would be delivered the next day!! It also said that it would more then likely come in the original box and not in a bag or anything!! What!? Its Christmas time! And its expensive! We haven't had anything stolen of our porch but people also couldn't see what things were and with amazon prime we can see right when stuff is getting delivered. The email didn't give a time! I was so stressed about it, I literally sat in the front room with the door open and watched for it the whole time the kids were doing school! About 1pm I got an email that said it was delayed but didn't say for how long!! Grrrrrrr!! After school the kids went out side to play with friends and get some fresh air about 2:30 I got a text from door dash saying that they were here! What?! I didn't order door dash, I look out side and a girl is walking up the side walk with our switch! I run out grab it and tell her thank you, before one of the kids come up front and see! I run in and hide it just in time for the kids to decided to cold to play out side! We played for about 5 hours straight on Christmas eve!

about 8pm we headed to the church to do our Hammond family Christmas party. Due to Covid it was alittle different this year we didn't all squeeze into my parent basement, instead we socially distanced at the church gym.

We did the nativity Mady was Mary.

Korbyn was a wise man.

So was Erilyn

Enslie was a shepherd

and the 2 girls who were baptized this year were the angels

After the nativity we did the secret Santa git exchange. this is what Erilyn got, Enslie got an lol and Korbyn got tiny transformers..

Once we got home about 10:30 we gave the kids some melatonin to help them calm down and fall asleep on the traditional air mattress about 11:30 they were all officially asleep.
