First day of school.... or was it?

We woke up on the 10th to an email stating school was happening.
So i changed to 8 to a 10 got the kid ready and we went out to do our first day of school pictures.

It wasn't as cold or windy so we had fun taking a few more pictures then the first day and headed inside to get school started.

Erilyn on and ready to learn.

Korbyn doing upstart.

Enslie with her teacher.

10 min. I heard Enslies teacher say that the principal had just texted  her and that the district had just canceled school.....AGAIN!! I seriously thought she was kidding until I got the text, email, then phone call from the school confirming it. They said that alot of the district was still with out power so they didn't feel it was fair to leave those that were still with out power out. Enslies poor teacher you could tell was holding back tears!! I felt bad not only for my kids to be let down for the second time that week, but for their teachers who worked so hard to get everything ready, not once but twice only to have it canceled 10 min in twice in one week.
They decided starting on a friday was not very logical so they set the first day of school for mon. sept 14th. Three weeks later then the rest of the state!

I got the kids boards ready and got them going on school. We decided to wait till after school to do their first day of school pictures just incase it was canceled for who knows why 10 min. in again!

Korbyn is in afternoon pre-k so this was his first time logging on with his teacher!

They made it thru the school day with out it being canceled so we took more "first day of school" pictures...

They were so excited that they FINALLY made it thru the whole day of school, they kept wanting to take more and more pictures!

Korbyn was excited that he got his own board this year to take pictures with.

One of his first attempts ever writing his name, i was impressed!
Even though i never ever in my life would have thought that i would be homeschooling all my kids its going a lot better then i ever thought it would. The kids teachers have been amazing and so helpful. Im grateful that even though i was supposed to return to work this year i listened to the spirit and waited because i have no idea how we would do homeschool with me working.
