On may 11th Erilyn was fallowing behind me one day at the school along the fence dragging her fingers along it. Her ring got caught on the fence the adjustable thing came apart on it and stabbed her hand. She ran up to me yelling "MOM, MOM, MOM!" Once I saw her hand she started crying. Her teacher was already out they had actually earned 5 extra min. So I told her teacher what happened and we headed to the office. I was in mom mode so didn't say anything on the radio, so the office lady was very surprised to see us and all the blood pooling in her other hand. She got it cleaned up while she did that I grabbed my purse and clocked out because I was almost positive she needed stitches.

Here it is all cleaned up waiting at urgent care I just took her to the closest one down the street from us. They got us all checked in then told us it was going to be at least a 2 hour wait! But also said they would send a nurse out to make sure was ok to wait and for sure needed stitches. They said that yes she needed them and thought she could wait as long as she wasn't feeling nauseous or in to much pain witch she wasn't. At this point its hitting me that i haven't eaten lunch and waiting 2 hours doesn't sound fun so we went to the pharmacy in the urgent care and i got sun chips, a protein pack, and a water bottle Erilyn didn't have an apatite. I ate that and waited the 2 hours with Erilyn i gave her my phone to play on while we waited.

Almost exactly 2 hours and we were back in our room waiting to get stitches they were quick getting her all cleaned up stitched and were happy she had recently gotten a tetanus shot (that's a story for another time) She ended up with 4 stitches on her left ring finger, and we were on our way. |

This is what it looked like 10 days later when she got her stitches out. They said its healing nicely and they don't think she will have any issues with it in the future they said that she doesn't have to keep it covered any more but she is more comfortable with a bandaid on it still. The really hard thing with all of this has been that she is left handed so doing school work and even doing up her pants has been hard for her not to mention trying to keep it dry while showering and doing just about anything. I have been having to help her with alot more lately and I think she is ready to have her independence back. |
