Erilyns baby blessing.

On march 4th we blessed Erilyn, Daddy did such a good job! I could tell he was nervous i was happy Travis was worthy to bless her. It meens alot to me to be able to have a worthy preisthood holder in the house. I didnt take pics but we had a little luncheon at our house after. i made chicken salad sandwitches and everyone brought salads and chips it was fun to have every one there to support her.

2 MONTH APT!!!

I CANT BELIEVE HOW FAST TIME HAS GONE!! Erilyn is now almost 3 months.... i know im kinda slow. But we took her for her 2 month apt on the 27 and she is doing great she gained lots of weight and is now in the 20 percentile for her weight witch is good. She was wasnt gaining there for awhile and i was afraid they were going to tell me that i could breastfeed any more. She has also gotten tall and is in 80 percentile for her hieght!! At her apt. she weighed 9lbs 7oz she gained 4 lbs in a month! She is now almost 24 inches long! she is going to be tall and skinny like mommy! she got 3 shots and one oral vaccine (man how i wish they were all like that!!!) she wasnt a happy camper for the rest of the day but did good after that. She does pretty well at night and when she turnd 3 months she is going to start sleeping in her own room! Its crazy how good she is and how much she has changed in such little time.

First bath!

We were both excited and nervouse to give her her first real bath. I i was worried she was going to hate it and scream the whole time but no she loved ever second of it!! She wiggled around alot though so was glad travis was there to help! We have since gotten her a chair to bath her with instead its better cus she cant wriggle around as much.

A crazy december!!

On Dec 22 we welcomed our beautiful baby girl into the world she weighed 5lbs 9 oz and was 19.5 inches long we named her Erilyn Riley Shorts :-D This post is probily going to get very lengthy and boring. But i want to wright down all the details of our crazy december before i foget them, so that it will be here for when my baby girl when she is old enough/interested about her dramatic entrance into this world. I will post the pictures first so you dont have to read the lengthy description at the end of the post if you dont want to. The pics are all sorts of out of order im sorry i was just kind picking and choosing not paying attention to what happened next. hahaha.

not to happy my epidural wasnt working on half of my stomach!


At about 28 weeks my belly started to measure smaller then it should have. It started as just a day or to small and slowly got smaller and smaller till i was measuring almost a week small. My doctor started to get worried and suggested that i get weekly fluid tests and stress tests done to moniter my fluid levels and make sure that the baby wasn't in stress at all. The first one went ok my fluid was at 8cm witch isnt horribly bad but deffinantly not good. I was told to drink tons of water and try not to be so active and the next week my fluid was up to 10, the next 12, i was doing good! I asked the doc if i could stop going to them and he said if the next one was good i could stop. Luckily he didnt let me to stop going cuz that one my fluid dropped down to 5! Witch was not a healthy level for me or baby. The doctors at the hospital and my doc talked and decided it was in the best intrest of me and baby to go ahead and induce labor. I was 36 weeks and 5 days so my baby was going to be premature... barley. I wasnt happy that i was going to have dec. baby so i cried but knew it was best for me and baby. My doc warned me that there was a good chance she would end up in the nicu but that would be better then me being so low on fluid. So we decided to go ahead and induce labor. I wasnt even packed for the hospital yet, so we set a time for 3 hours later so i could go home and pack. After stopping for a quick pedicure we went home and quickly packed for the hospital we stopped by moms house real fast so i could get a preisthood blessing,(travis and president johnson did it) then off to the hospital it was. We got all checked in and by 430 the pitocin was started and by about 9 i was ready for an epidural. It only worked on half my body though so still felt the pain on half of my stomach, and my cathiter hurt really bad so i wasnt very happy and in lots of pain. The nurse checked me at about 2 am and i was dialated to a 3. About an hour and half later my water broke but the nurse wouldnt check to make sure that was what happened i was frustrated and in pain! Then my butt started to hurt but the nurse just kept saying she wouldnt check me cuz she didnt want to get my hopes up finally at about 5 she checked me and sure enough i was dialted to a 10! And probily had been for a while cuz when they told me to push the head crowned right away! They then left the room to call the doc and told me not to push it was the longest 20 min of my life! The contractions were every few min and almost impossible not to push through everytime i got a contraction i would just shake. Finally my doc arrived and after 45 min of pushing my baby girl finally entered the world! I knew the sec i saw her ( well since the day i found out i was pregnant) that it was a girl, but waited for the doc to make the big anouncement. She was having trouble breathing so after weighing her and measuring her i got to hold for few minutes then they took her to the nicu. A few hours later after my epidural wore off i got to hold my baby for what seemed like two minutes then they told me she needed to rest and took her from me. I went back to the room and tryed to get some sleep but i was to worried about my baby girl and couldnt. At about midnight a tall man walked into my room and explained that her breathing wasnt getting better, that she had air outside of her left lung and that they needed my permision to insert a breathing tube and tube to to drain the air around her lung. I of coarse gave them permission and now i deffinantly couldnt sleep about two hours later he came back and told me she was now stable and everything went smoothly. ! I was happy till i was told i wouldnt be able to hold her till the chest tube was out i lost it! Then again couldnt sleep so i waited till about 6 when i couldnt take it anymore and woke travis up to tell him what had happened. I wanted to go see my baby girl right then. When we got in the nicu the breathing tube was really scary looking and they pushed us out of the way so they could take x rays and stuff. i again lost it and started bawling my eyes out. I felt so helpless and scared for my baby girl! I got released on on christmas eve it was the hardest thing ever leaving with out my baby girl and even harder not hvaing her with me on christmas eve and christmas. On christmas we took her a christmas presant my mom got her.... a monkey that has cheeks that light up and and plays music. In the next couple of days she came off the ventilator and got to move to a new room where the less severe babies get to go. Wich ment we would get to take her home soon and that we could hold her again witch made me a very happy mommy!! Even though it was only twice a day it was better then nothing she got weened off her oxygen quick, and got to have her tubes in her nose and the iv in her head taken out. Then we could hold her when ever!! On jan 1 we got the best news ever we would get to take her home on the 2! We were so excited!! I didnt sleep that night and couldnt wait to get to the hospital. My mom (hamma) surprised us and rented the same cadalac we had for our wedding to take her home in. She even decorated our house with 11 pink balloons for the 11 days she was in the hospital. She has been home for about two months now and is the best baby ever! She only cries when she is hungry or gasy. She has even started sleeping through the niht well 10 to about 5 atleast! . Oh i just thought of a fuuny thing the doctor was playing with her hair (she has tons!!) the whole time i was pushing her out it made everyone in the room luagh. In the romm when she was born was travis my mom, his mom, my sis in law ashley, travis sis tanisha, and my grandma. my sis shaless was scared tober in the room sicne she was about 30 weeks pregnant and was going to go through it soon. she did get woken up at about a quarter to 6 (when i started pushing) by her baby we decided they were saying see you soon to wach other :-D

Pragnancy update!!

Im 32 weeks and 2 days today and i feel pretty good. The morning sickness has come back but usually goes away after i eat. I have gained 18 lbs as of my last apt. at 31 weeks 5 days. The doc wanted me to gain 30 so we are almost there. I just hope that i can loose the weight fast. Baby is growing right on schedual, well i have been measuring just a tiny bit small but the doc says that judging on how active baby is there is nothing to worry about. I Recently took the gestational diabetes test and the test for anemia. I passed the diabetes with flying colors but barley passed the anemia test. They start to worry when your iron levels get below 63.0 and mine was at 63.2. So i get to take iron supliments witch acctually arent to bad and my energy level has gone up quite a bit. Baby is loving to beat me up its favorite thing is to kick me in the back and hips witch makes me feel like im not wide enough for this ever growing baby. So other then always being sore im doing great! loving being pregnant but cant wait to meet my baby.Here is pic of my ever growing belly taken at 30 weeks.

HALLOWEEN

Travis had to work a closing shift at work this year on halloween, and i didnt want to be alone handing out candy. So my grandma came and we hung out and played games, while the trick or treaters came. I went through two huge bags of 120 count candy and some of grans left over from her work. That was with only giving each child 1 maybe 2 pieces of candy! Next year im keeping a tally!!

The basement project.

On october 8 Travis' dad come down from alaska to visit us till the 18. And help travis with some projects in that basement we smply needed a fireplace taken out and sealed and a vent put in the babies room. I being pregnant decided that all the dust and who knows what else would be stirred wouldnt be the best for baby so i went and stayed with my mother in law in roy for a few days while they got all the demo done. Little did i know that they were going to redo the entire basement!! They insulated the entire basement, extended our bedroom alittle bit, built a closet and redid most of electrical. And we only paid for around 500 dallors, i dont want to know how much his dad spent but i could never thank him enough!!! The rooms are all finished now except for the luandry room and the food storage room. And they just need to be primed and painted!!!
