Enslies 7th Birthday

Enslie was so excited for her birthday that she wanted us to decorate the night before. The other 2 kids helped, This was the finished product.

Enslie decorated the table.

She was up bright and early and ready to open her presents and get her day started.

She opened play dough and a bow from Erilyn and Korbyn before her present from mom and dad..

She was excited for a jewelry box!

After presents we had cinnamon rolls for breakfast as she requested.

Giggles and Smirks Made an appearance.

Then we headed to city creek to have lunch in the food court. At this point the waking up early excited for her birthday and the nervousness hit her and she fell asleep and didn't eat much of her subway sandwich. After we walked around for a bit before stopping to look at the fish.

It was FINALLY TIME!

Getting ready!

Here we go! She was so excited to get her ears pierced just like sister did for her first birthday! Because of covid they didn't have a teddy bear for to hug like Erilyn did, so Korbyn handed her this random brush to hold! She wanted me to hold her hand for the first one but was brave and did the next one with no help but words of encouragement! She didn't even make a peep! Im not sure if she even made a face because of the stupid mask being in the way.

But she LOVES them and is so excited to be a big girl like sister. After the mall she wanted to go to the car wash but the line was around the block so we went to spend her dollar store gift card instead then headed home for cake and a surprise.

Because Getting your ears pierced isn't the cheapest thing in the world that was her activity for the day. We weren't sure how many people they would let in the store to get her ears pierced, so we didn't invite any friends to go. But the wed. night before her birthday I over heard her saying that she was excited to see who we surprised her with for her birthday like we did the other 2 kids! Shoot! We didn't have a plan in place! I happened to run into one of her friends mom waiting in the pick up line at the school on Thurs. And asked her how she would feel having her daughter come over for cake and ice cream and she said yes!! I was so excited. I also asked her other friends mom while walking away dropping her off on Friday if her daughter could come  she said as long as we kept it small and the kids wore masks she would be ok with it! Woo Hooooo! Now we hold not 1 but 2 friends coming! Enslie was so excited when the showed up at the door!

They played with some of her dollar store toys before having cake. We put all the candles on one side and cut the other side to share with friends.

Then they went outside to play with chalk one of the girls brought for s bit.

Even though I told both moms they didn't have to bring a present both girls brought Enslie a Barbie set so they played Barbies outside for a bit till they cold hahaha!

Once those friends left a neighbor came over and they wrapped Enslie up in the left over streamers!

And later that night another neighbor came over to, they played with her new Barbie's for a while before having her requested bean tortillas for dinner ( bean tortillas is basically home made bean and cheese burritos) She says that she had a great birthday! And i cant believe that my baby girl is 7 years old!

Korbyns 5th birthday

On the 14th my baby, my only boy turned 5! I can't believe my baby is already 5! He was so excited to have his birthday! The first thing he wanted to do was open presents.

I was scrolling thru Amazon with him one day and he saw this transformer and was so excited about it!!
And of course he had to get some new Jammies!

I immediately bought it and he was so excited about it! The thing is HUGE and he loves it! 

The night before Travis and i set up a few decorations for him. 

For his breakfast we went to 711 for drinks and donuts.

He was excited to shoe his pre-k Class his new toy and get sung to. He picked out some boneless wings and fries at the store for his lunch.

After school and a meeting for me we headed to chuck e cheese we surprised him and his friend from church Bohdi joined us.

We had pazza,

Played games.

Sang to him,

Ate cake,

opened presents,

And posed for pictures before turning in our almost 1,000 tickets  for some candy and toys.

The girls put the their temporary tattoos in crazy places.

And we opened his present from Bohdi and played With it for a good hour before the ending the night with watching Incredibles and popcorn

This sunset was a fun ending to his birthday.

I almost forgot Giggles and Smirks did make and appearance for his birthday! They had on mickey mouse masks and were in Korbyns room hanging out on his toy boat.

Man we sure love this handsome boy!

He has so much personality! He is a mommas boy and loves to give me hugs, but he is also crazy! He literally jumps off the walls, randomly growls, yells, and screams. He still loves his jammies but doesn't throw huge fits when he has to get dressed any more. He has really grown up this year he is talking clearly and out growing his "baby face" he is filling out his size 8 clothes I'm assuming that his summer clothes will be size 9 or 10 depending on what the stores sell. He wears a size 2 shoe and is doing well in pre-school. He got to go in person for the first time on Monday and surprised me and jumped right out the car with out hesitation! He did say that when he saw me at the end of the day he almost cried he was so excited to see me. I'm sure glad we have this kid in our family he definitely keeps us on our toes and laughing, he completes our family and I'm glad we have him.

I want to add that i like to watch tv. my favorite movie is the Santa clause movie. I also like to play with hunter.

9 year old well check.

 On Jan. 4th Erilyn had her well check. They checked her blood pressure it was 118/70. She weighed 70.4lbs (75%) and was 55.6in (90%) they also pricked her finger to check her cholesterol. Her cholesterol levels were 110 for one (below 200 is good) and the other was 70 ( above 60 is good). The doctor also noticed a slight curve in her spine but doesn't think that it needs an x-ray quite yet. She made a note in her chart and if it doesn't improve or gets worse by her next visit she may need to get an x-ray. Everything else checked out normal the doc said looks healthy and to keep up the good work. 

The doc did check for signs of puberty and there are still none but the talking about it peaked her interest. And given that a close friends daughter started her period over Christmas break and she is only 9 I figured I should talk to her about everything the word puberty means. When she has had questions about stuff before and I have always given honest, but not necessarily whole answers. She seemed to be ok with everything I was telling her and soaked it all in. I told her if she thinks of questions to talk to me about it rather then ask a friend. She asked a few more question about everything then seemed satisfied. She did say that she is happy that the doctor says she doesn't need to worry about any of that quite yet though.

New years eve/day

These first few pictures actually happened on the 30th. We have been noticing for awhile that our water heater was going out it would start really hot but wouldn't last long at all. When we could no longer fill up even half of our bath tub with out the water running out, we decided it was time to start looking into our options of a new one. We looked at RC. Willey and Lowes to price out our options. Then we remembered that the insurance thru the city we have on our indoor plumbing may pay for it. So we gave them a call and the sent out guys the next day to look at it.

I told them the issue and they took a look they found a date on it from 2003! They were shocked that it lasted as long as it did! After talking to them they told us what the insurance would cover, what they wouldn't, over all it cost $1,500 and insurance would cover $1,000! I called Travis they called the insurance then insurance called Travis to verify. next thing I knew I was looking for a hose to drain the water out of the heater.

Out with the old in with the new.

Its been so nice being able to bath all the kids and not run out of hot water!

That black thing is Erilyns cat under the blanket and laying on a pillow man those kitties are so spoiled!

We decided to take the kids bowling to do something fun to celebrate. When we got there the guy at the desk said that the pass didn't work on holidays I told him that if it didn't work it wouldn't even let me pull it up let alone get to the venue accept that i was on ( we learned this on veterans day when tried to go bowling not even realizing it was a holiday). He said well bowling is an hour wait right now any way... I said well what about golf he said there's no wait for that and I will be nice and let you use your pass to do that. So we went mini golfing instead. The kids new masks they were wearing glowed a ton and they thought it was so cool!

After mini golf the kids wanted pizza at fat cats we waited 10 min and no one helped us so we played a few games in the arcade and headed out. We told the kids we could get pizza on the way home or got out to eat in a restaurant. The las time they ate INSIDE a restaurant was in Feb., for uncle Matts birthday. SO they were excited about that idea and want to go to Ihop. They have been interested in that place for awhile as we drive by it every time we go to the store and I have told them that Hampa used to work there. Well we get there and the parking lot is empty! Travis looks on the door and they close at 6 its 5:45 so we decide to go some where else. We call Chuck a Rama they are open till 7 and busy so then I remember I have a gift card for Chilies we call there they are open till 11 and not busy so we decide to go there.

After google maps took us to Village inn instead we found Chilies a block away they told us it was 20 min. wait. We couldn't wait inside the restaurant so we walked across the parking lot to trader joes they closed at 6 it was like 5:58 so we walked around for a bit. and then waited in the car for the text.

Since we had a gift card and it was the first time the kids had been in a restaurant in over 10 months we let them pick fancy drinks. Korbyn got a blue lagoon it had fish candy in it. Erilyn got a root beer that came in a bottle and Enslie got pineapple juice.

All 3 kids ordered pizza and oranges and shared a pineapple. They all ate SO good! 

I got sizzling fajitas the kids thought it was so cool that they were actually sizzling when they came out.

And daddy got steak!

When we got home we played a game of life where daddy beat me by 200k! The girls were a ways behind us. After the game I decided to try out the new water heater myself and take a hot bath it felt SOO nice but it made me so tired I went right to bed! We told the kids they could stay up and watch a movie or be ok with watching the New York ball drop at 10 they watched New York and tried to make it to midnight.

I took this picture right before I fell asleep about 11 at midnight I was woke up to the sound fire works going off like crazy outside so I got up to see if any one made it and they were all asleep!
2020 was definitely a crazy year!
The kids only attended in person school for 2 and a half months of the year!! 
 We found out that our old house can survive a 5.7 earthquake and hurricane force winds!
We lost Travis' dad to cancer kind of suddenly.
We found out Enslie has scoliosis.
We made the hard decision to keep our kids in their current school even though online is hard for all of us.
Got 2 new couches.
I made the decision to stop baby sitting daily to focus on getting a certified to work at the kids school, then switched my focus to helping the kids with online school instead.
We redid our kitchen.
Got new floor thru out.
Spent a week end in St. George for the Hammond reunion.
Enjoyed Lagoon and a the water park with no crowds!
Took a very late spring break trip.
Got use to the presence of plexie glass, masks everywhere, social distancing and the smell of hand sanitizer. 
2020 was definitely a year to learn and grow.
